Georgetown Steam Plant Site Monitor
Organized, authoritative, and customer service oriented person to facilitate private events at the Georgetown Steam Plant including film and photo shoots. Represent the Georgetown Steam plant Community Development Authority by keeping safety of people and the plant the highest priority at all times. Desired backgrounds include organizational skills, experience as a museum guard, docent or other tour guide, event planner, theater production, etc. History buffs encouraged.
Compensation:
$30/hour, independent contractors (1099) paid by GTSP CDA.
On-call, gig job ranging 2-14 hours per event. It doesn’t happen frequently, but some shoots last into odd hours. Site monitors mostly work alone, but depending on how big a shoot or how many people involved, sometimes a small team of site monitors is needed.
Site Monitors have full 24/7 access to the building to facilitate the shoots and private events and for issues of safety, security and egress.

Enforcing established safety procedures at all times
Assisting clients with problem-solving within known limitations of the facility (electricity, water, etc.)
Sharing knowledge about the steam plant (what makes it special, equipment, improvement projects etc.)
